I have a nine-year old son and we just bought a book "Gregor the Overlander". I was reading it first just because he had to read it for school and I totally got hooked. Sometimes is good to read books you normally wouldn;t, you might be gladly surprised.

Angela Davis who was one of our black activist from last century, has written a neat book. The name of the book is "Women Race & Class".In the book she talks a lot about our black american history focuses on the history and status of black women in America. She talks mentions how black women were never respected as a "Woman" by the male slave master and some of them often outworked their male counterparts in picking cotton. Women also worked on the Louisiana levees.

A famous Argentine writer can blow a reader's mind with his short stories and novels (and poetry) as well. Highly recommended for those who seek to be surprised by their narrator...Borges (among other great story tellers) seems to have had an impact on Cortazar's writing. Discover writers from the South, the deep South! Lol
