Replacing Gyprock

I am going to replace a couple sections of gyprock and will need to do patch work (fill in the edges and sand when dried - I can't remember what this is called) to have it fit in with the rest of the wall. Can you tell me the tools and supplies I will need to do this project?

any questions i can help wit plz don`t hesitate 2 ask me if ur not sure of anything.. better 2 be safe than sorry and alot cheaper! all free advice.. i`m not in that trade anymore due 2 worn joints..lol worked 4 many years on new works,convertions and renovations, d.i.y interests advice now..all free

I would really like to know how to put in those plastic wall anchors. Seems like I am just doing it all wrong, and the plastic peice with the screww is going in too far in the wall. Hope you can help me, and give me directions on how to do this. Linda ***

Nice, Just joined the group. You have an old post hope this gets to you. Your using too bis of a drill. Go smaller. You want it small enough so the "plastic thing" has to be tapped into the hole with a small! hammer. Then the screw will open up the split ends tightly into the plaster wall, causing it not to spin. When you buy a small bag of these it dosn't show you how to use them. Go look at biger plastic assortments on the shelf of a builders store, Don't buy it but they show you the way to to use them and drill sizes. Hope it helps! take care.
